Welcome to NRCDV Radio's DELTA FOCUS Story Series, an initiative of the PreventIPV project. This series will feature lessons learned from Center for Disease Control’s DELTA FOCUS grantees, who worked to prevent intimate partner violence by implementing strategies to change the environments and conditions in which people live, work, and play.

In the first episode, we hear from three organizations featured in "Engaging Youth in IPV Prevention" story. Each of these organizations work to change the prevailing attitudes, culture, and social expectations related to IPV through their experiences with engaging youth in intimate partner prevention. Their approaches focus on building youth’s leadership skills, engaging them in shifting norms related to violence, and strengthening community-level protective factors for Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).

In January 2018, NRCDV released the report, "The Difference Between Surviving and Not Surviving: Public Benefits Programs and Domestic and Sexual Violence Victims' Economic Security," that outlines results of a survey of more than 1,100 respondent on the usage of public benefit programs by victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

NRCDV Radio asked the report's author, Shania Goodman, to explore the role that public benefits can play in addressing economic insecurity among domestic violence victims, and how public benefit programs can be strengthened.
