Development of Resource Materials

NRCDV staff and expert consultants have developed an extensive array of over 160 new resource materials, including information packets, policy and practice briefs, guidance memos, applied research papers, annotated publications lists, online special collections, and other materials. NRCDV resources are easily reproduced at the local level and are widely disseminated through VAWnet and other websites, mailings, trainings and other means. Larger NRCDV information packets are typically available as a CD for easier to use by many of the NRCDV’s constituents.

In addition, the NRCDV regularly publishes a Funding Alert, Women of Color Network Info-Link newsletter and VAWnet eNewsletter, all designed to provide targeted, timely accurate, and well-organized information to specific target groups.

Funding Alerts. The NRCDV Library Team maintains a searchable grants and funding database and publishes a twice monthly Funding Alert, providing a synopsis of current fellowships, scholarships, and grants that may be used to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual violence, and stalking.

To subscribe to the Funding Alert you may use the mailing list option in the right hand tool bar. Or view current funding opportunities, click here.

Comprehensive Resource Packets. Distributed nationally in both hard copy and CD versions, the specialized packets respond to issues of particular concern to domestic violence advocates. The NRCDV recently completed resource packets on Religion and Domestic Violence, and LGBT Communities and Domestic Violence.

Applied Research Papers. Through VAWnet’s Applied Research Forum, researchers and practitioners are commissioned to create brief summaries and interpretations of current research on violence against women. The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) and the University of Minnesota School of Social Work serve as our key partner and provides critical guidance regarding the information and resources provided through VAWnet. To date, over 66 Applied Research Papers have been developed and disseminated through VAWnet and other means.

VAWnet eNewsletter. Disseminated bi-monthly, VAWnet’s eNewsletter highlights new resources, those in development, announcements, events, and other items relevant to its subscribers.
