Purple Door Breakfast

The Christina House Domestic Violence Program, along with Ozer Ministries, announces the Purple Door Breakfast, Thursday, October 5, 2017 .  This event is the kick-off for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  The theme this year is “Kids Behind the Purple Door.”   It is estimated that one in 15 children are exposed to domestic violence each year.  Additionally, 90% of these children are eyewitnesses to the violence.  The event will include two speakers who will address this crucial issue facing many children today.  Learning how this exposure to violence affects children is a first step in helping them recover from this trauma.

The breakfast, held at St. George Social Hall, 278 West High Street in Lisbon, begins with registration at 8 AM and breakfast served at 8:30.  You may register for the breakfast by calling the Christina Center at 330-420-0845 or by email at  Please RSVP by October 2.  The event is sponsored by The Christina House, a Program of Catholic Charities Regional Agency, Ozer Ministries of East Palestine, Ohio, and the Columbiana County Department of Job and Family Services.
