The Clothesline Project

Southwest Iowa Families, Inc. invites the community for a Clothesline Display at the Red Oak Legion Park. The Clothesline Project originally started in 1990 due to increased awareness of domestic violence against women. Around this period, 51,000 women were killed by an intimate partner. Today, the project still continues, and T-shirts from women and children are displayed throughout the nation to promote awareness to individuals and the community of the options and resources available to victims.
